Wildflowers in the Water Meadow Reserve

June 5th, 2015

resize

Last year we spreed a lot of mixed grasses and wildflower seeds all around the Three Owls Water Meadow Reserve and this year we are starting to see wildflowers pop up all over the field. Along with all the new flowers we are also seeing  a much wider variety of different grasses compared to last year when the field was pretty much solely ryegrass. All these new flowers and grasses will all help to benefit the local wildlife, the flowers will be providing a source of food that is free from any pesticides for all the local bees, butterflies and insects. The grasses will provide a wider variety of seeds for the local birds. Even the seeds from dandelions provide finches with an excellent source of food.
